Document Engine is a versatile product that functions as a document processor within your server infrastructure or pairs with any Nutrient client-side SDK. It simplifies the integration of document processing, management, and backend-powered rendering. It can be hosted in our infrastructure (managed) or yours (public or private cloud). Independently, it serves as a backend document processing service. When integrated with the Nutrient for Web SDK, it enables server-backed PDF viewing and editing for client-side applications.

Security is our top priority, and when you make a request to our API, the file you upload and the resulting PDF are stored for the duration of the request and deleted as soon as a response is sent. All communication between your application and our API is encrypted via HTTPS. Each API request reports the number of consumed credits. If you want to know this in advance, you can analyze the API request by hitting /analyze_build instead of /build. This way, the request will not be executed; it will simply report the number of credits it would consume if it were actually performed.
