Employee Spotlight: Penny Liu
Our June employee spotlight is Penny Liu, one of our workflow automation engineers! Penny has been an essential part of our team since joining in February! Thanks for all you do, Penny!
Tell me about your role at Nutrient Workflow.
My title is Workflow Automation Engineer. This is a role in the Professional Services Team and anything that falls into “Services” to customers will be our responsibility, which includes but is not limited to implementing workflows for customers, providing training/coaching/consultation to customers, and helping them solve technical issues they run into.
How long have you worked at Nutrient Workflow?
I started working at Nutrient Workflow at the beginning of February. My path to Nutrient Workflow aligns with what I wanted to achieve in my career. I’ve always hoped to further my knowledge in the business workflow automation field. The last company I worked for was also in this field although not directly related.
John (VP of Professional Services) interviewed me and explained to me what this role was all about. I loved that the role was both technical and customer-facing (exactly what I was looking for!). Everything about this role seemed fit to me!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I read a lot. I like reading literature, history, philosophy and social science. I have a natural curiosity for all things that happen in this world and I try my best to understand them. I also enjoy traveling and exploring different lifestyles and arts. My favorite activity on weekends is hiking with my husband Jon and our dog Brock.
What kind of problems do you like to solve/What types of workflows do you enjoy working on?
In general, I like to solve any business problems customers put in front of me. I enjoy developing long-term relationships with customers by being a trusted technical advisor to them. Seeing customers succeed energizes me. But I particularly enjoy working on projects that involve integration with different systems. These types of projects help customers connect different worlds and create tremendous value by giving them a streamlined experience. They are more challenging and therefore more rewarding.
How has your experience been ramping up in your role?
First of all, I’ve been very impressed with the product. What I learned and tried to do with the software in the first couple of weeks didn’t seem to even scratch the surface, which is really exciting because that means there are so many things it can do.
And the team is very professional and nice to work with, both the service team and everybody else, so I’ve been feeling good about everything. I hope to continue learning through these projects and be able to solve more challenging business problems for our customers.
