Nutrient Workflow provides the ability to incorporate files of any size into automated workflow with Amazon S3 Plugin

Nashville, TN- February 26th, 2008- Nutrient Workflow Software, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Request Management (ERM) software, announced today from the BPM TechShow the immediate availability of an new Plugin for its Enterprise Request Management System, Nutrient Workflow 4.5. The Amazon S3 Plugin will enable users to include remote content of any size within a workflow or approval process.

Plugins are extensions of Nutrient Workflow’s workflow engine that allow for in-process, bi-directional integration with external systems and work with the company’s hosted service, Nutrient Workflow 4.5 OnDemand as well as it’s licensed version, Nutrient Workflow 4.5 OnPremise.

Implementing a document-centric process on the Internet can have its challenges. Large files sizes (up to 5 GB) and heavy download activity can make hard drive and bandwidth costs a concern. Fortunately, Amazon’s S3 simple storage service offers an inexpensive yet robust file storage solution that is accessible from anywhere on the web. Amazon S3 provides a simple web services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. It leverages the same storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites.

“We are excited to be able to offer this new Plugin to our customers,” said David Willsey, CEO, Nutrient Workflow, “The S3 Plugin will enable customers to incorporate files as big as 5GB into their workflow, which will be of particular interest to our customers using Nutrient Workflow in Creative Production departments and Marketing. Moreover, this is an example of how the Nutrient Workflow Plug-in architecture allows Nutrient Workflow to take advantage of existing web services to help customers achieve a workflow that best meets their needs. We look forward to publishing more Web Services- enabled Plugins throughout the year”.

“Having tracked Nutrient Workflow for the last five years, we have seen them frequently set the benchmark for on-demand BPM,” Nathaniel Palmer, president at Transformation+Innovation. “This latest innovation, and what we saw demonstrated this week, reaffirms our assessment of Nutrient Workflow as one of the leading lights in SaaS based process management.”

It is challenging to develop processes that involve digital content like graphic files, photographs and movies because of the large file size and the desire for version control. Now, with Nutrient Workflow’s S3 plug-in, creative content up to 5 GB in size can be incorporated into an Nutrient Workflow workflow. From within the Nutrient Workflow interface, users can upload one or more files directly to an S3 account through an easy to use web-based form and have the document routed to other users based on business rules. The content goes directly from the user’s computer to S3 while the process is managed through Nutrient Workflow. Possible uses include routing and approving digital image and video files, soliciting and gathering content from multiple distributed users or delivering finished digital artwork to customers.

Available in installed and hosted versions, Nutrient Workflow 4.5 offers a 100% Web-based platform to centrally manage user requests from multiple locations, streamline workflow and operations, automate business processes, and improve the overall customer experience.

The Nutrient Workflow software solution is a flexible Enterprise Request Management (ERM) system that allows companies to automate requests and streamline processes. The software provides form creation, routing definition and tracking tools to those responsible for processing requests, minimizing data entry and simplifying requests for approval and fulfillment. Nutrient Workflow is web-based, allowing for easy user accessibility and management of business processes. The solution eliminates problems typically related to labor-intensive processes such as manual paper handling and email requests, and can reduce costs per transaction 60 to 90 percent as opposed to paper-based processes.

The Nutrient Workflow OnDemand solution provides the full functionality of Nutrient Workflow via the Internet without the need to install and maintain software. It reduces the risk, cost and time when implementing a solution for process management. Instead of installing the software on its own site, a company can directly access the software, updates, and infrastructure, which are all maintained by Nutrient Workflow, freeing up time and resources to focus on business.
