We’re happy to announce we’ve released PDF Converter for SharePoint 10.2. This new version includes the ability to read built-in and custom document properties, support for importing data into PDF forms, and conversion of Microsoft InfoPath with custom XSN.

Reading Built-In and Custom Document Properties

Thanks to a workflow action available in both SharePoint Designer and Nintex, users can now read various individual built-in and custom properties from Microsoft Word and PDF documents, such as the title, author and subject. An additional new Nintex workflow action also enables users to simultaneously retrieve multiple document properties from Word and PDF documents in XML.

Furthermore, it’s also possible to read custom Word and PDF properties and XMP metadata for PDFs. For more detailed information on reading document properties, please refer to this knowledge base article.

Importing Data into PDF Forms

Beginning with version 10.1.2 of PDF Converter for SharePoint, it was possible to export FDF, XFDF and XML formats into both Adobe AcroForm and XML Forms Architecture (XFA) PDF form templates. In this new version, you can now import data as well, which enables you to present information in a human-readable format.

InfoPath Conversion with Custom XSN

The Convert Document workflow action, which historically has automatically picked up the template file during conversion, now enables users of SharePoint Designer and Nintex to override the XSN template and specify the path to the template to be used.

And More!

In addition to the changes mentioned above, we also made various bug fixes.
