File attachments

This guide explains how to seamlessly view, edit, collaborate on, or sign file attachments directly within a request, eliminating the need to switch applications or download files.

When adding a file attachment to a request or form, users can perform the following actions:

  • View

  • Edit

  • Delete

  • Annotate

  • Sign

View a file attachment

To view a file attachment, click the view view-icon icon. Use this feature to verify that the correct file has been attached before proceeding.

On the page that appears, you can view the file attachment in an intuitive document viewer interface with the following functionalities:

  • Page navigation

  • Scroll

  • Pan mode

  • Zoom in and out

  • Fit page

  • Print file

  • Search within the file

  • Export file as a PDF

  • Download the file

Click the close close-icon icon in the upper-right corner of the viewer to exit the preview mode and go back to the File Attachment screen.

Edit a file attachment

To edit the attached file and make necessary changes before submitting the request, click the edit edit-icon icon. On the page that appears, you can perform the following actions:

  • Page navigation

  • Scroll

  • Pan mode

  • Zoom in and out

  • Fit page

  • Drawing

  • Freeform highlight

  • Text highlighter

  • Eraser

  • Form creator (button, text, radio, checkbox, combo box, list box, signature, and date widgets)

  • Sign

  • Image

  • Stamp

  • Link

  • Comments

  • Text annotation (font color, fill color, opacity, change font, font size, text alignment)

  • Line annotation (line, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, polygon, cloudy polygon, polyline)

  • Print

  • Document Editor (add new page, delete page, duplicate page, rotate pages, move pages)

  • Document crop

  • Search within the file

  • Export file as a PDF

  • Download the file

  • Click the down arrow in the upper-left corner to switch the side navigation view to:

    • Page thumbnails

    • Page outline

    • Annotations

    • Bookmarks

    • Signatures

    • Attachments

    • Document versions

If you’re an approver, you can collaborate (annotate) on a file attachment or sign the attachment. However, you cannot edit the file.

Delete a file attachment

Click the delete edit-icon icon to remove incorrect or outdated files.

Submit request or save as draft

Once you finish editing, press *Submit** to submit the request or **Save Draft** to continue editing later without losing changes.
