PSPDFKit 2.1 for React Native Unifies Platform APIs
With the release of PSPDFKit 2.1 for React Native, we aimed to unify platform-specific APIs so that they provide a more natural hybrid experience. This release also comes with more detailed documentation for the configuration options and several other improvements.
Unified APIs for Both Mobile Platforms
Several configuration options in React Native were previously platform-specific — some values would only work in Android, while some values would only work in iOS. We’ve now unified a lot of these configuration options so that they work on both platforms. We also renamed several configuration options with explicit prefixes (Android or iOS) to make it clear that they work on one specific platform only.
Improved Documentation
In addition to unifying the configuration options, we also documented them, including their data types, supported platforms, and descriptions. This will make it much easier to customize PSPDFKit for React Native according to your needs.
And More…!
We updated React Native to version 0.66.4, and we updated all its dependencies to the newest version. Our React Native example projects now work on Apple silicon machines. The PSPDFKit for iOS SDK dependency has also been updated to use the latest version, 11.2. If you come across anything missing in our React Native library that you think would be useful to have, feel free to contact us.
